Important Guidance and Strategies for Parents/Grandparents/Carers to Take Action

Important Guidance and Strategies for Parents/Grandparents/Carers to Take Action

These guides or steps are designed to assist you the parent as the primary carer and protector of your children. To give you the knowledge and confidence to be able to effectively start making a difference, and to send a message, we as a wider community will not accept the continued sexualisation of our children, and the indoctrination of radical gender theory.

This is information Craig Cole and this site along with others have been guiding parents with for the over past year. However, we felt it would no doubt assist you to have it all laid out for you to enable you to more effectively, start to push back against this agenda.

The steps listed below are in no particular order as everyone’s situation is different, and we did not want to confuse the issue by providing you numbered steps. We acknowledge this will take courage and persistence on your behalf, remember you are protecting your children, who are under attack and cannot protect themselves.

We are confident these actions will help; you can also email Craig at info@leaveourkidzalone.org for any further clarity or guidance.

Sites available to research:

START CONVERSATIONS WITH OTHER PARENTS

  • Start conversations with other parents, provide them with information. Belinda a parent (refer to link below) started conversations with other parents at school pick up and drop offs who had no idea of the content being taught, it was only after Belinda had spoken to them, they were made aware.

  • Start conversations with your circle of friends, other parents and/or work colleagues. Even other parents who may not have children at your school this does not matter, they may be from social circles, work colleagues. The important aspect is to start to have the conversations. This situation will not be ignored away.
  • Download a flyer/s and take to school drops offs and pick ups or just to have handy in your car or bag.

FORM PARENT AND/OR ACTION GROUPS

  • Put a call out on social media community pages to other parents. Form chat groups online to share information, gain support and strategize.

  • Form action groups with parents you know, they do not necessarily have to be parents from your child’s school to begin with. With constant networking these groups will grow and be able to be concentrated on schools in your area, or your particular school.

  • Remember the more parents you speak to the more likely you are to grow your parent group. Even is there is only you and one other parent from the same school to start with, that is ok. It is a great place to start to be able to grow with.

  • Once you have a group of parents, strategize your plan of action together, contact us here at info@leaveourkidzalone.org for any guidance.

  • Contact this page to be put in contact with other parents, we have a number of parents who would love to be put in contact with you.

  • Teachers network with other teachers, take photos of the content you are asked to teach and email it to either us here at this site info@leaveourkidzalone.org or indefenceofchildren.org. Your full anonymity is assured, we will place it up on the site, with your permission

  • As per Victorian legislation under the education and Training Reform Regulations Act 2017 its states under Division 7 – Parents Clubs section 52.

    52 Request for Information

    (1) On receiving a written request signed by at least 6 parents of students at a Government school, the principal of the school must convene a meeting for the purpose of forming a parents' club.

    (2) The principal must take reasonable steps to circulate a notice to inform the school community of the meeting under subregulation (1) at least 14 days before the meeting.

    (3) Any member of the school community may attend the meeting.

    • We encourage parents to form a group of 6 and request a meeting for the purpose of forming a school parents club, with the focus being as concerned parents to review all content taught to children at the school to ensure the content is of an appropriate nature in alignment with parents’ moral convictions and beliefs.
    • As stated in the legislation the principal must convene a meeting, regardless of the parent’s club being accepted or not, the fact you get to raise these issues in an open forum, with the school council present, teaching staff and other parents is one of the goals we are attempting to achieve to raise awareness of this situation to all parents.

Please note legislation is Victorian legislation, please refer to your relevant state or territory for legislation relating to education. We will endeavour to provide links for each state asap

EMAIL YOUR SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

  • There is now a letter template you can download from this site. It informs Principals and Teachers of your rights as parents and the Federal Legislation that the school and/or teachers are in breach of if they continue to teach sexualised content and radical gender theory to your child against your consent.
  • As well as informing the school of Federal Legislation that protects your child from being bullied and/or harassed for you opting your child out of being taught any such content.
  • Opt Out; You have a right to opt your children out of all teachings of sexual content and radical gender theory, this must be adhered to by the school.
  • The strategy behind this letter is to remind schools that you as the parent are the primary educator of your child, the Education Department, schools and teachers do not have a right over you as to what content they can teach your child.

START CONVERSATIONS WITH YOUR CHILDREN

  • Speak with your child and open up conversations with them as to what did they learn at school today. Did you get taught anything that made you feel uncomfortable or you did not want to learn? Is a potential good lead in question.
  • Relay to your child that as parents you have to agree with the content that is taught and the school must adhere to this direction.
  • It is important to reassure your child they have done nothing wrong and you are not questioning your child, you are monitoring the school.
  • Ask your child to bring home their workbooks, worksheets so you are over the content that is being taught. The school and teachers must allow your children to bring this material home if you are requiring to see it.
  • This is a great opportunity to evolve the relationship you have with your child, reinforce the fact you are there to protect them and you as parents will always have more rights than any school or teacher.
  • Your child being exposed to the content being taught in schools, is forcing you to have conversations with your children that both you and them may not be ready to have. This is a direct result of the policy implemented by the school and completely unacceptable.

REQUIRE LESSON PLANS TO BE PRODUCED

  • You as a parent have the right to access the content that is being taught to your children.
  • Teachers are required to have their lesson plans in place for the upcoming term, they should be fully aware of the content they intend on teaching your children.
  • When asking for the lesson plans and content, make sure you state you “require“ the content, not request.
  • Schools are now directing parents to the Education Department site to find the content. This is unacceptable, they need to produce the content they are teaching. If this is an issue we suggest you politely reply with. Are you hiding something? As any teacher with sound values will not have an issue providing this information to you.
  • Once lesson plans are produced to you, ask is there any extra content that will be added to this moving forward, if so, what? and what is the source of the content the teacher intends on teaching.

ATTEND AND REQUEST SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETINGS

  • During and since covid school council meetings were and have been held online for many schools. This is unacceptable and you as parents are quite entitled to attend in person and we suggest you require the school to start holding these meetings face to face with you the parent.
  • In Victoria legislation states under the Education and Training Reform Regulations Act 2017 Part 4 Division 1 section 27, the School Council must meet 8 times per year and at least once per term ( page 34 of Act )
  • https://www.legislation.vic.gov.au/in-force/statutory-rules/education-and-training-reform-regulations-2017/009 ( Download PDF on page)
  • If in States or Territories, we would encourage you to research the Acts relating to each state around education.

HOME SCHOOL YOUR CHILDREN

  • One option is to home school your child until we can get this content out of the school curriculum. Yes, we fully acknowledge this may not be an option for some people. This may not be an option for you as a family alone, however an option to consider is to join forces with other parents and share the responsibility.
  • Schools’ budgets are allocated relating to the numbers of students enrolled. If there is a large reduction in enrolments, this will directly affect the schools budget. This will only be effective by weight of numbers, something worth considering.
  • There are many different home-schooling services online you can obtain content to educate your child with that is all age appropriate. Also there are accredited professionals who are able to tutor your child. All of this satisfies any regulations or rulings that are imposed upon you.

(We are in the process of compiling a list of home school options, tutors and program facilitators for you to access as parents)

We trust and hope this information is useful to you, yes it requires you to get out of your comfort zone and it is uncomfortable. Your children are being made to feel uncomfortable at school. Don’t be overwhelmed by what you have read and are digesting, start small and gain confidence.

Start with gaining more knowledge through the sites named earlier, start having conversations with other parents and you will be on your way.

Share information with other parents and your network of family and friends, and as stated before if you require any extra clarity or guidance please feel free to email Craig Cole at info@leaveourkidzalone.org

Many schools and teachers hold a belief they know what is best for your child above what you do. You need to reclaim your power and assert the fact you are the primary educator of your child.
