Drag Events for 12-25 year olds on the rise

Drag Events for 12-25 year olds on the rise

The recent exposure and rightful concern over a "Queer Prom" targeting 12 year olds, unfortunately is not something new. Drag Queen shows and proms have been held in various states over the past 3 years at least, and they are on the rise.

The Newspaper contacted Tess Hackett for a quote ( parts of her quote mentioned in the article ).

The highly concerning aspect of this article are quotes from the Young Pride Network who seem to think there is no concern with 12 year olds socialising with 25 year old in such settings. Drag Queen entertainment is based around sexuality, so for the Young Pride Network to state there is no sexual content, sexual themes or performing at this prom is an outright lie, and a deliberate attempt to mislead parents and the community.

An article from Binary from 2022 reporting of a Drag Queen show for ages 12-15 held in Ivanhoe, Melbourne:

Queer formals are also organised by numerous LGBTQI+ groups Minus 18 being one, who promote and run regular "Queer formals".

These events are targeted at 12 – 19 year olds, once again highly inappropriate for 12 year olds to be socialising at an event that is based around sexual themes.

It is this sites firm belief that these events are a magnet for predators and the organisers of these events clearly seem to condone such predatory and sexual behaviour for minors. The Young Pride Network are either complicit or completely delusional either way they are not fit to be able to host such events that place children in such dangerous and indoctrinating settings.

These events often come with a message to bring along a queer curious friend. It would be a fairly accurate assumption to make this is a clear recruiting strategy, in an attempt to further bring confused young people into their fold to further indoctrinate them, and indoctrinate them in settings with adults, older teens and sexualised themes.

Any moral society cannot stand back and allow this to happen. These events that are placing 12 year olds and minors in general at the mercy of adults in a sexually themed setting will continue to increase unless the greater community start to push back and raise your rightful concerns.

The Pride community are well within their right to hold events. However not events that target 12 year olds who will be socialising with adults or 18-19 year old teens.
