Elephant Ed Update
Note: This is an update on the article Email from Parent regarding inappropriate sexual content previously published on this site.
Further information on Elephant Ed is they have been endorsed as a “trusted partner of the ESafety Commission”.
This endorsement covers only their activity in delivering in person cybersafety training to schools. But, seeing the endorsement on their website, to casual readers who don’t know that, might assume their entire operations have been approved. Please be aware of this important fact, Elephant Ed has only been endorsed by the ESafety Commission to deliver cybersecurity education. There is NO endorsement from the ESafety Commission for Elephant Ed to teach radicalised gender theory or inappropriate sexual content as evidenced in the video clip below originally published in this article. This clearly shows the content Elephant Ed teach to Year 9 students under “Sexual Relationships“, which is highly inappropriate and could quite rightly be interpreted as grooming.
The eSafety commissioner has been emailed by a concerned parent, to explain what measures are in place to ensure the trust engendered by this endorsement is not abused, however, at the time of writing, they have not received a reply.
Below is a recommended curriculum guide for schools, from Elephant Ed that you can find on their website - https://www.elephanted.com.au/schools
Note: A link to the PDF document containing this curriculum can be found here
Upon viewing the “recommended curriculum guide“ for schools, serious questions need to be asked of the actual content being taught. Examples being Year 5 & 6 Embracing Change, Body Safety and Identity part 1. Year 7 Sexualisation, Identity part 2.
The entire content is highly questionable and a further example to parents to take a more active vigilant role in being aware of the full content your children are subjected to.
