Genderless Toilets in a Victorian Primary School

Genderless Toilets in a Victorian Primary School

A group of up to 40 parents are fighting back over plans to build “all-gender” toilets in a new building for grades 2 to 4 in an inner-Melbourne public primary school.

Christina Woods is the parent responsible for rallying other parents at Camberwell Primary School, regarding this situation as well as pushing back and opting her daughter out of any teachings of radical gender theory.

Below is a link to an article from Sky news with Christina speaking about the situation and what she has faced as well as a detailed report:

Christina along with 2 other parents was part of an online forum facilitated by Craig Cole, (link below) where you will hear her speak more in depth about the situation than what was reported from the visual footage on Sky News. We thank Joel Jammal and his Ark podcast for the platform.

Hear Christina speak at the 1 hr 17 min and 27 second mark of this online forum:

A brief overview of what has occurred is:

  • A petition from children at the school was ignored.
  • Parents were never consulted or included in any part of the decision making process.
  • 40 parents had their concerns and requests ignored.
  • Press who asked for comment from Principal Janet Gale ignored.

Principal Gale informed parents the all-gender toilets were “part of ensuring safer and more inclusive facilities in line with the school’s obligations under anti-discrimination law.”

This is a false claim as there is no such legal obligation. There is no government target in Victoria or any other State for that matter that requires gender-neutral toilets. Schools are not legally required to eliminate single-sex spaces and install "gender neutral" toilets.

This is a clear deception from Janet Gale and it would be a reasonable case to suggest it was a blatant outright lie, from a school Principal whose position as Principal needs to be thoroughly re-examined.

If you as a parent or concerned adult wish to lend your support to Christina and the other parents and children at the school, you can do so by emailing Janet Gale at this email address : camberwell.ps@education.vic.gov.au

Furthermore another disturbing element to this overall situation is the following.

Any biological male can access girls’ bathrooms, change rooms, or dormitories in Victorian schools by simply stating he identifies as a girl. No formal diagnosis required. No medical transition required. A student simply saying they identify as a girl or boy is sufficient. Staff are not permitted to question or deny access based on biological sex.

This is clearly an extremely unsafe and highly uncomfortable situation that places young girls in. We have seen as reported on this site the level of highly inappropriate sexual content being taught, even at Primary School level.

Links to examples of this:

Allowing boys to freely access girls toilets unchallenged sets up an unsafe environment for any young girl.

As reported to this site by numerous parents that sexual assaults at schools are swept under the carpet and attempted to be covered up. Also, Police will not take any action when these incidents are reported to them, which is a highly disturbing fact as well.

This site will keep you informed of any future updates to this situation. Suffice to say Principal Janet Gale and Camberwell Primary School have many questions to answer that have remained unanswered.

In the opinion of this site this response and the dismissal of legitimate parent concerns from the Principal is highly deplorable and Ms Gale is not fit to hold such a position.
